The Tulu script was mainly used by the migrated Tulu priests in Kerala to write Vedas and Mantras to remember around 11-12th century is popularly known as the Tulu Script. As this script form is popular in both Tulunadu(Current Mangalore and Udupi districts or known as undivided Dakshina Kannada district) and part of Kerala, it’s called Tulu-Malayalam script. This Tulu-Malayalam script became Malayalam script in Kerala and Tulu script in Tulunadu. These two scripts share much similarities because they originated from same parent script in 12th century.
